Saša Novak, born in 1964 in Zagreb, started his career on the Karlovac rock scene in the 1980s with the cult band Nužni izlaz, which holds the title to this day the most important generational band of the powerful Karlovac city rock scene.
Arriving at Psihomodo pop (Zagreb), the time when the band finally released their debut album ‘Godina zmaja’, became crucial stage and guitarist strength as confirmed by many media articles. He came full circle with the band the most important albums and tours, including foreign ones.
In addition to ‘Psihomodo pop’, he also played in the bands: Virusi, Novak & Koppola, Le Cinema and with Drago Mlinarec, and signs the production of some ‘Psihomodo pop’ projects, as well as bands like Greaseballs, Fantomi and the Lorelei – group from Karlovac, from which two emerged a key member of the cult Serbian punk band “Goblini” whose occasional guest is on tours.
In the second half of the 90s, he moved to Germany, where he improved his production skills, works on his own projects and collaborates with musicians.
He marks his return to the Croatian music scene with the retrospective album ‘Ja sam tu’ with a series of releases that marked his career and are a cross-section of musical collaborations, and they represent the stamp of time and actuality. In recent years, he has been active in the band ‘Pozdrav Novom valu’ – (Greetings to the New wave) as a strong guitarist representative of the new wave generation, which gave the band additional strength and recognition, the audience and critics responded extremely positively, and the cooperation with cultural and musical actors scenes involved in various project activities of the band, a step forward was made in the conceptual reflection and action.
In parallel with the projects with which he appears in front of Croatian and regional audiences, he also develops original projects on which he works intensively.
